We mourn the loss of Josef Willibald

It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to our company founder, long-standing managing director and senior partner, Josef Willibald.

Following a brief but serious illness, he passed away on 24 April 2026 at the age of 91. With extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit, great passion and foresight, Josef Willibald built the WILLIBALD company from a one-man workshop into a modern industrial enterprise in the recycling and environmental technology sector. Over more than six decades, he played a decisive role in shaping its development and led it to its current strength.

With his passing, we lose an outstanding entrepreneur, a pillar of our company and a warm-hearted, loving person. Our deepest sympathies go to his wife Anni and the entire Willibald family.

His life’s work and his legacy will continue to serve as both an inspiration and a commitment to us, and will positively shape the future development of our company. We will always honour his memory with respect and gratitude. The company will be continued in his spirit by his son, Alexander Willibald.
